Location:

Vacaville, CA - Retail shop How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Sells industrial, medical, and specialty gasses, welding equipment, power and hand tools, and other supplies to customers. Advises customers on tools, hardware, and materials needed, as well as procedures to follow to complete tasks customers wish to perform.

At times, safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle to deliver atmospheric, flammable, industrial gasses and hardgood products to customers by performing the following:

The pay offered is from $22- $26.
  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

  • Ensures all required branch paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.

  • Advises customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed and the procedure to follow to complete tasks customers wish to perform.

  • Order entry, process cash, and charge orders; assist with reconciliation of cash and bank deposits.

  • Communicates by phone, e-mail, and in person with customers, sales staff, store managers, and others, inquiring about and providing information on cost, ordering and delivery times, etc.

  • Obtains or transfers merchandise requested by customers to and from other locations.

  • Answers customer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.

  • Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customers using a computer, calculator, and/or paper and pencil to prepare an invoice. Accepts payment and provides accurate change for customer purchases.

  • Maintains neat, clean, and professional personal appearance.

  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating so that you get along with customers, vendors, co-workers, and management.

  • Stocks shelves, warehouse, counters, and tables with merchandise and maintains showroom displays.

  • At times, may load and unload service trucks with gas cylinders, containers, and supplies for scheduled route deliveries as directed by the dispatcher.

  • Makes deliveries in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction. Ensures that all documents required to move and deliver the load are available and accurate.

  • Inspects vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions before each delivery (pre-trip) and submit necessary documentation to report any defects or problems immediately.

  • Performs post-trip delivery at the end of each shift.

  • Performs all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and complies with all federal, state, local, and DOT regulations.

Required Education:

  • High school degree or the equivalent preferred, with one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Length and Type of Experience:

  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in industrial retail, inside sales, customer service, and/or inventory control-related positions.

  • Must possess a valid Class A/B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements.

  • Minimum one (1) year of class A or B experience operating a commercial vehicle

  • Must possess a clean and safe driving record, with no at-fault accidents or serious moving violations within the past three (3) years

  • Experience operating a forklift is preferred

  • Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):

  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.

  • Ability to clearly communicate via phone, email, or in person with customers, sales staff, the Branch Manager, and all the other branch personnel. Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Google Suite Applications).

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • A forklift may be required to operate in the warehouse.

  • Ability to read and comprehend safety data sheets.

  • Must be able to work occasional overtime when necessary.

  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

  • DOT pre-employment and random drug testing apply.
