Our Dental Clinic is located in our state-of-the-art School of Dentistry, which opened in 2018 on the Creighton Campus, in the heart of downtown Omaha. Our clinic services over 44,000 patient visits annually.



Job Summary

Our Dental Clinic Financial Services Specialists ensure there is an exceptional experience for the patients with prompt, accurate, and courteous insurance and payment service. This role will also facilitate the education of dental students about current health care reimbursement policies and are critical the Creighton Dental Clinic's overall success.

The financial services team consists of eight patient and insurance financial services specialists, well-trained to take care of patients' financial needs. The team's duties include accepting payments, posting payments, auditing patient billing records, determining insurance benefits, preauthorization for procedures, checking eligibility, working denials, submitting insurance claims, sending patient statements, and answering phone calls from patients. Each team member plays an important role and is trained to assist each other and each patient with respect and dignity. The financial services team processes on average 150-200 patients per day and over $400,000 in payments monthly.

The Financial Services Specialist will be part of a team responsible for providing services specifically related to patient insurance processing. They will process patient registration and verify insurance benefits, provide patients with insurance information, calculate insurance co-pays, out of pocket costs, send patient statements, audit charges to ensure proper coding and accurately enter receipts into automated system etc.

Bilingual Spanish candidates highly desired.



Qualifications


  • High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree or higher is preferred
  • Post-secondary education with classes in Business, Coding, and /or medical programs (ie Dental Assistant etc..) desired
  • One to three years of dental or medical insurance experience strongly desired
  • Minimum of 3 years consistent work experience required. Experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Spanish bilingual preferred
  • Knowledge of dental or medical insurance industry and processing of insurance claims strongly desired
  • Dental experience, including knowledge of dental procedures and dental procedure codes, strongly desired



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledgeable in American Dental Association (ADA)/ Current Dental Terminology (CDT) procedure and/or medical coding strongly desired
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Math Acumen required
  • Detailed, accurate and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively handle and/or resolve conflict and complaints
  • Strong customer service skills and team orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, analytical, and have the ability to multitask while maintaining a positive work environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Dental or medical software experience a plus
