Position Type: Full-Time Class Category Faculty Job Open Date 06/06/2024 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Initial Screen Date: Minimal Qualifications: An Associate' degree in Industrial Technology or a qualifying field and a combination of formal training, work experience and professional tested experience that provide a foundation in the specific subject matter being taught; OR A combination of education, formal training, an apprenticeship in a related field, and professional tested experience; OR A high school diploma/GED or higher and formal training, such as an apprenticeship in a related field and 5 years of professional tested experience. Qualifying Fields: Industrial Technology Engineering Technology Engineering Manufacturing Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Meet the minimum required credentials for the discipline or program. *See above.* Demonstrated Industrial Electrical skills, electrical controls, and troubleshooting. Commitment to the community college philosophy. Interest in teaching community college students. Understanding of, demonstrated responsiveness to, and ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community including the racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity within the college student population, including students with different ability statuses (physical and/or learning). Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to use information technology for professional productivity. Work Hours Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Full-time/9-month position (170 Contract Days). Compensation Defined by the approved MCC-NEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Special Instructions to Applicants PLEASE NOTE: This position is contingent on budget-appropriated funding. The Position is for the Spring 2025 semester. The Spring 2025 semester begins on January 21, 2025 - May 21, 2025. Preferred Areas of Expertise: Advanced degrees and/or certifications in the relevant teaching discipline. Recent successful teaching experience in the subject area at the community college level. Successful online, virtual, or hybrid teaching experience. Demonstrated ability to employ innovative teaching techniques and methodologies. Bachelor's in industrial electrical/industrial engineering technology, technical education or related discipline. Two (2) or more years of teaching experience. Experience with automated welding processes. Completion of a DOL approved apprenticeship program. Demonstrated PLC programming. Demonstrated HMI programming. Demonstrated Industrial Networking (I.I. OT) Demonstrated Industrial Robotics and associated controls. Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and outside the classroom. Evidence of professional activities and service beyond primary teaching assignments. Development and review of curriculum, including assessment of learning outcomes. Demonstrated ability to reflect critically on institutional and teaching practices that aim to increase cultural responsiveness. Demonstrated ability addressing issues of equity in the classroom.
