Vice President, Asset Quality Review Officer
The Asset Quality Review Officer III supports an independent assessment of credit risk within the Bank by leading and/or participating in risk-based examinations of loan portfolios and centralized underwriting and support functions.
Position Responsibilities:


  • Accomplished in reviewing individual loan relationships by analyzing financial statements, collateral reporting, covenants, etc. to assess credit ratings, identify strengths and weaknesses in credit underwriting and evaluate monitoring processes.
  • Plans and oversees the execution of portfolio exams as the Examiner In Charge by managing a team of examiners and coordinating the completion of exam reports.
  • Writes individual report sections that detail strengths and weaknesses with the composition of loan portfolios and the execution of the associated administrative processes by analyzing portfolio data and examination findings.
  • Oversees special projects as requested by AQR management.
  • Understands and interprets Comerica credit policy and ensures that lending departments adhere to credit policy and quality standards.
  • Communicates exam results to senior management.
  • Develops recommendations to correct underwriting and credit quality deficiencies.
  • Works closely with, supervises and trains other AQR examiners.
  • Knowledge of macroeconomic factors and how they impact specific industries
  • Skilled in proof reading and editing business reports to ensure accuracy and consistency in tone, formats and messaging.
  • Experienced with combining and relating data from multiple sources into a cohesive analysis.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 5 years of experience in commercial lending, loan review, or bank regulatory experience
  • Experienced user of Excel and Word

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday, this position includes both onsite and remote work Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
