Base Pay Range: $125,100.00 - $212,700.00 Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits identified below. Join the action! As a New Product Introduction (NPI) engineer, you will support our division's new product development process. This engineering adventure starts with providing hands-on support during technology feasibility evaluations and continues through the release of new products into production. Along the way, you will partner with the design engineering team to complete product designs and build prototype systems. You will be responsible for the creation and release of critical items such as product integration procedures as well as driving the spec validation process. You will work closely with the manufacturing team to understand and provide what they need to be successful for mass production. Are you ready? Key responsibilities and skills:
  • Build, align, calibrate, and qualify optical metrology systems for engineering experiments and design validation.
  • Generate and release the procedures for building and qualifying the systems.
  • Drive the validation of system-level specifications by working with both the manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Provide design feedback and specification recommendations for new sub-assemblies.
  • Support training of manufacturing and field service personnel.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and field service teams to resolve critical problems and implement continuous improvement projects (CIPs) to achieve cycle time, cost, and yield targets.
  • Possess strong technical analytical skills and make decisions based on data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using various methods (written, verbal, presentations).
  • Motivated self-starter who is fast-learning, capable of working independently, and can effectively coordinate with a globally distributed team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (optical, mechanical, systems) or physics or related technical field and 5+ years of demonstrated ability in the NPI role.
  • Experience with building and aligning sophisticated opto-mechanical systems is highly desirable.
