University of Missouri Extension, in partnership with the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs, is searching for a scholar to serve as a state specialist in our Labor & Workforce Development Program. The successful candidate will be a scholar with a background in workforce development, workforce policy, labor market data analysis, or labor education that will be able to link scholarship with an extension program that extends the University of Missouri beyond the boundaries of the university campus into Missouri communities or regions.

There is a possibility of a reduction in Extension teaching for this position, depending on the candidate and their ability to meet the undergraduate and graduate teaching needs of the Truman School.

Duties of the Position: The successful candidate will
* Contribute to a high-impact applied research and educational program that supports issues of importance to Missouri, the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs, and MU Extension.
* Link scholarship with a nationally recognized Extension program that extends beyond the campus into Missouri communities and regions through Extension publications, curricula, and programs.
* Secure external funding to support the program and efforts contained within the program.
* Publish in appropriate peer-reviewed scientific journals and Extension outlets and present at appropriate state, regional, and national conferences.
* Build and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
