Nov 04, 2026

As an HVAC Controls Requirements Engineer, you will own the development and management of HVAC control software and calibration requirements for next-generation Stellantis vehicles. You will work across systems, software, calibration, validation, and supplier teams to define requirements that deliver climate comfort, energy efficiency, and thermal management performance for conventional, hybrid, and electric vehicle applications. This role is best suited for an engineer who can translate customer, vehicle, and system needs into clear, testable requirements, identify gaps early in development, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams to support successful software and calibration releases.

The Candidate will:

  • Serve as the technical owner for assigned HVAC controls feature requirements and maintain requirements integrity throughout the product development lifecycle

  • Develop clear, testable, and traceable requirements supporting climate comfort, energy optimization, thermal management, and heat pump control strategies

  • Ensure end-to-end traceability from vehicle and system requirements through software implementation, calibration development, validation, and production release

  • Collaborate with software, calibration, validation, program, and supplier teams to align requirements with vehicle-level performance objectives and program milestones

  • Lead requirements reviews, approval activities, change management, and configuration management processes

  • Identify requirement gaps, inconsistencies, and integration risks and drive resolution across the development lifecycle

  • Support root cause investigations by evaluating requirements coverage and identifying opportunities for improved controls performance

  • Capture lessons learned and continuously improve HVAC controls requirements, development processes, and engineering best practices

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or related degree field
  • A minimum of 5 years of automotive engineering experience
  • Experience with requirements development, systems engineering, or embedded controls development within automotive applications
  • Familiarity with CAN and LIN networks and automotive system interactions
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • Experience with HVAC controls, thermal management, heat pump systems, or electrified vehicle climate strategies
  • Experience with requirements management and change management tools such as IBM Rational Change, RTC, DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, INCA, CANape, or related engineering tools
  • Experience supporting MIL, SIL, HIL, and vehicle-level development and validation activities
  • Knowledge of automotive software development processes, requirements traceability, and structured problem-solving methods
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced product development environment
