Software Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Software Engineer - HPC and Data Applications to support the development of aircraft data-analysis capabilities. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain C++ and Python software for Linux-based high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Develop software to process and analyze aircraft vibration, health-monitoring, and maintenance data.
• Integrate file-processing capabilities and analytical algorithms into reliable backend workflows.
• Support the development of backend services for web-based data-analysis applications.
• Improve software performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Develop automated tests and supporting technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and aviation subject-matter experts to translate operational needs into software capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews and configuration-management activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Three or more years of relevant software-development experience.
• Experience developing software in C++ and Python.
• Experience developing, building, testing, debugging, and deploying software in local and remote Linux environments using command-line tools.
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with HPC, distributed-computing, or clustered Linux environments.
• Experience developing backend services, web APIs, or web applications.
• Familiarity with aircraft data analysis, signal processing, or aviation maintenance.
