Security Guard - Simms Health Center

Security Guard opportunity available with our Venice Family Clinic. The Security Guard will work independently under the general supervision of the Security Manager and provide security services for our Venice Family Clinic.

Key duties include:

• Crime prevention and security patrols.
• Escort staff to parking facilities in evening hours.
• Preparing routine written reports, such as incident reports and in-kind donation forms when necessary.
• Maintain visible security presence at fixed posts as assigned
• Respond to calls from staff regarding problem situations or individuals.
• Identify and report potential fire, health, and safety hazards.
• Identify patients and staff to permit entry to clinic sites via security front lobby door, using appointment roster, screening questions, and established routing guidelines.

Note this position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System," and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.

Salary range: $27.05 - $35.65 hourly

Required:

• Oral communication skills sufficient to convey clear and concise information to the public and staff, such as giving directions, crowd control, and explaining policies and procedures.
• Possess and maintain California State Guard Card, Chemical Agent certification, and CPR and First Aid Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
• Ability to demonstrate experience in security procedures.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and co-workers.
• Working knowledge of security systems, including locking mechanisms, alarms, and cameras.
• Ability to write grammatically correct, concise, and logical reports.
• Ability to effectively supervise and train individuals and groups when necessary.
• Ability to execute directions and effectively convey information to others.
• Ability to be assertive and use necessary physical force to control situations and/or individuals.
• Ability to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, or hostility.
• Ability to pass a criminal background investigation.
• Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings and provide coverage at other sites as needed.
