Junior Solutions Engineer - RealmOne Foundry

RealmOne's Foundry is seeking a Junior Solutions Engineer to support applied research and development in service of national defense missions. This is an entry-level position structured around rotational assignments across the Foundry's active project portfolio. The successful candidate will contribute to data science, software engineering, and systems engineering efforts as program needs dictate, and will develop broad technical competency across multiple disciplines rather than specializing in a single area.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and testing of software and data capabilities across Foundry projects.
• Support rotational assignments spanning data science, software engineering, and systems engineering, with scope adjusted to experience level.
• Participate in prototyping and demonstration activities supporting internal research and customer-facing capability development.
• Collaborate with Foundry engineers and data scientists, as well as subject-matter experts from the broader RealmOne workforce, to translate mission requirements into technical implementations.
• Document technical work, including design decisions, test results, and operational procedures.
• Maintain compliance with applicable security and data-handling requirements.
  

Required Qualifications

• Zero years of professional experience required.
• Demonstrated programming ability, typically Python, through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship with eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance. RealmOne will sponsor the clearance process; sponsorship is not guaranteed on day one.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, data engineering, cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with cloud or containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, or a major cloud provider).
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks or data pipeline tooling.
• Exposure to generative AI tools or concepts (e.g., LLM-based applications, prompt engineering, or RAG pipelines).
• Exposure to Linux systems administration.
• Coursework or project experience in cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with semantic web and knowledge graph technologies (RDF, OWL, SPARQL).

Active security clearance or prior eligibility

Pay Range: 75,000 - 80,000
