Staff Child/Adolescent PSYCHIATRIST

Our comprehensive pediatric programs and services are designed to bring hope and healing to children and adolescents who face complex psychiatric, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disorders. We strive to cater our approach to treatment to the needs of each child who comes into our care.

Treatment programs at Laurel Heights Hospital are structured for youth ages 6-17 who are dealing with general psychiatric difficulties and trauma. We also offer specialty mental healthprograms for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The role would be Monday-Friday with the possibility of weekend/off hour coverage to meet the needs of the hospital.

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents to assess mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, which may include psychotherapy, counseling, and medication management
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals
• Provide guidance and consultation to parents, guardians, and educators on supporting the child's mental health
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Stay updated on the latest research and developments in child and adolescent psychiatry to apply evidence-based practices

• Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of a psychiatry residency program, with a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry
• Board certification or eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
• Valid state medical license to practice psychiatry
• Proven experience in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and mental health conditions
