We are seeking a senior Subject Matter Expert-Analyst to support U.S. Army weapons technology development in a secure, collaborative research and development environment. This is position is in Huntsville, Alabama.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will recognize and accomplish essential tasks without supervision. They will analyze global events, adversary developments, Army doctrine, and future operational needs; translate those findings into concise assessments, executive-level briefings, and other decision-quality products; assist with managing and responding to higher-headquarters taskers within their area of expertise; and participate in technical reviews and leadership engagements across government organizations. The role maintains organizational policies for non-technical information handling and research and technology protection, manages related protection-plan documentation, and advises personnel on U.S. Government controlled unclassified information handling. By connecting operational realities with technology-development priorities, the position helps leadership make informed decisions that sustain U.S. military technological advantage and deliver reliable, effective capabilities to Soldiers.
How You Will Contribute to Our National Security and Defense Mission:
MTSI is seeking a Subject Matter Expert-Analyst to support U.S. Army missile science and technology research and development. In this secure, collaborative research and development environment, you will provide decision-quality analysis and communications to senior leaders, connect operational realities to technology-development priorities, and participate in various action-oriented Army and DoW-level processes. Your work will directly support the development of reliable and effective missile capabilities for Soldiers and help sustain the U.S. military technological advantage.

Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Engage government senior leaders, technical personnel, and other stakeholders on issues related to mission, technology, and organizational operations.
  • Monitor global events, adversary developments, and Army doctrine; synthesize your knowledge into concise assessments for organizational leadership.
  • Prepare executive-level briefings, information papers, strategic communications, and other decision-support products.
  • Assist with managing higher-headquarters taskers and respond to those within your area of expertise.
  • Participate in technical and program reviews to maintain situational awareness and identify tasks essential to organizational support.
  • Maintain organizational policies for non-technical information handling and protection of research and technology; manage related protection-plan documentation.
  • Advise organizational leaders and technical staff on controlled unclassified information (CUI) handling, marking, and related information-protection requirements.
  • Maintain required MTSI and customer training, timekeeping, administrative, and security-accountability requirements.
  • Travel in support of mission requirements as needed (very low percentage of time).
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 21 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree and at least 19 years of relevant experience. For candidates with advanced degrees, one degree must be in an Engineering field.
Required Clearance:
Active DoD Secret security clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI access; U.S. citizenship.
Technical Experience:
  • Experience in operations and staff of any military service.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop executive-level written products and deliver effective briefings to senior leaders; proficiency will be tested.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and judgment skills in a fast-paced, secure environment.
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor while coordinating effectively with government, contractor, technical, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office productivity software, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; proficiency will be tested.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • U.S. Army experience.
  • Experience in military science and technology efforts.
  • Experience in military acquisition.
  • Experience in high-level military or DoW headquarters.
  • Knowledge of Army Multidomain Operations doctrine.
