Position Summary

The HR Assistant II provides intermediate-level administrative and operational support for the Human Resources department. This role serves as a key resource for employees and supervisors, coordinates HR processes, assists with recruiting and onboarding activities, and supports payroll, leave administration, employee relations, and HR reporting functions while working independently on routine assignments.

Full Time / Swing Shift

Pay $23.15 - $27.25

Essential Job Functions



  • Perform weekly payroll-related activities, including calculating and processing sick pay, jury duty pay, bereavement pay, holiday pay, attendance adjustments, and other payroll transactions.
  • Create, maintain, and track employee Leave of Absence (LOA) records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding activities for entry-level and hourly positions, including posting jobs, screening applications, scheduling interviews, coordinating background checks and drug screens, and processing new hire paperwork.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding employment, benefits, payroll, attendance, leave of absence, and other HR-related inquiries.
  • Review and audit HR documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to Central Human Resources for processing.
  • Generate and maintain HR reports, including attendance, turnover, seniority, headcount, and other workforce metrics.
  • Assist HR Business Partners with employee relations matters, investigations, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Prepare employment-related correspondence, issue employee identification badges, process wage verification requests, and coordinate employee forms and documentation.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programs, company-sponsored events, and travel arrangements as needed.
  • Provide backup support for Human Resources team members and assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.



Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources, Payroll, Administrative, or related office experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, payroll, employee records, or leave administration preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related software.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as UKG, Lawson, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on routine assignments with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
