We are seeking a
Conference Services Supervisor who reflects Dorsey's values of excellence, integrity, and teamwork to lead daily operations of our conference center and reception area and deliver a polished, client-focused experience. You will set service standards, guide and develop a team, and ensure seamless execution across meetings, events, and food and beverage services. In this role, you will: - Lead daily operations of the conference center and meeting spaces, ensuring a consistent, high-quality hospitality experience and professional appearance. - Manage conference center and reception staff: hiring support, scheduling, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and coverage planning. - Assign daily responsibilities and ensure adequate staffing coverage. - Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing coaching and development. - Develop and maintain operating procedures and service standards, including room readiness timelines, response times for requests, and cleanliness/security protocols. - Coordinate room setups per requirements and ensure rooms are configured, stocked, cleaned, and inspected before each meeting/event. - Coordinate and staff all food and beverage service for meetings, client events, training sessions, and special functions. - Manage catering end-to-end: source and place orders, confirm deliveries, oversee on-site setup/presentation, monitor quality and timing, resolve service issues, and close out orders. - Monitor and supervise food and beverage service for meetings, client events, training sessions, and special functions; maintain food safety and allergen protocols; ensure an exceptional client experience. - Serve as primary point of contact during business hours for conference center operations; communicate proactively about changes, conflicts, and contingency plans. - Monitor room conditions throughout the day to maintain a professional appearance and promptly address any issues. - Manage the conference center operating budget and monitor expenditures to ensure costs remain within approved budget guidelines. - Oversee flower order requests and process related invoices. - Reconcile the department's monthly corporate credit card statements accurately and on time. - Order and maintain appropriate inventory of conference center supplies, beverages, paper products, serving items, and related materials. - Respond quickly and professionally to meeting changes, last-minute requests, and service issues. - Serve as the primary point of contact for conference center operations during business hours. - Ensure adherence to firm policies, confidentiality expectations, safety/health standards, and accessibility requirements. - Perform other duties as assigned. What we're looking for: - High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. - At least 5 years of experience in hospitality, conference services, event management, hotel operations, or a related customer service environment. - At least 3 years of supervisory experience leading and developing staff. - Experience managing departmental budgets and controlling operating expenses. - Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. - Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Firm. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment while maintaining attention to detail. - Physical strength and agility to permit full performance of the duties of the position, including frequent bending, walking and lifting up to 30 pounds. Preferred: - Some college coursework or equivalent.
- Experience in a professional services or law firm environment. - Knowledge of conference room scheduling or hospitality management software. - Experience supporting executive-level meetings and client events.
