Position Summary

HR Business Partner will be responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in the Pacific Northwest sites in Washington and Oregon. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues; successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This position executes processes that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, supporting Foster Poultry Farms' mission, vision, and ACTION guiding principles: Accountability, Collaboration, Truth-Seeking, Initiative, Ownership, and Nimbleness.

Essential Functions



  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Consult with supervisors/management, provide HR guidance when appropriate. Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective and objective investigations.
  • Recruit exempt and non-exempt employees to ensure best candidates possible are selected. Manage and coordinate Foster Farms, enterprise-wide, college recruiting programs.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.



All personnel employed or associated with Foster Poultry Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated in a company handbook and at training sessions. Each new hire is provided a handbook and attends a food safety training session before beginning work. All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year. Records are maintained reflecting the distribution of employee handbooks and attendance at the training sessions.

Physical Requirements

Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:



  • Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours on a wet concrete floor
  • Must be able to withstand a cold (40-48 degree) environment.
  • Must be able to withstand a hot (80+ degree) environment.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace work environment.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related or equivalent proven work experience.
  • 2+ years of Human Resource experience; preferably in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of performance management, employee relations, safety practices, talent acquisition, and compensation strategy, with the ability to apply this information in a manner that is compliant with relevant employment law.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and demonstrated experience utilizing HRMS.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, varying shifts, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify.
  • Must be able to read and write English legibly.


  • Must be detail oriented and proficient in mathematics.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels including management.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Decision making ability for the flagging of deviation from procedures.
  • Able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for their coworkers.
  • Must wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
