We're seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Certified Personal Trainer to provide exceptional one-on-one training while leading engaging small group fitness programs for both adults and youth. This is an exciting opportunity to help members of all ages build strength, improve confidence, and develop lifelong healthy habits in our welcoming, state-of-the-art fitness center.

Whether you're coaching an individual through a personalized fitness plan or leading a high-energy small group class, you'll play an important role in helping our members succeed.


What You'll Do

Design and deliver personalized one-on-one training sessions based on each member's goals and abilities.

Lead motivating small group personal training classes for adults and youth, creating safe, effective, and engaging workouts for participants of varying fitness levels.

Build meaningful relationships with members by providing encouragement, accountability, and ongoing support.

Engage members on the wellness floor through exercise demonstrations, equipment orientations, and fitness recommendations.

Conduct complimentary fitness consultations and develop individualized exercise programs.

Monitor member progress, modify exercises as needed, and celebrate successes along the way.

Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness environment while ensuring equipment is properly maintained.

Serve as a YMCA ambassador by providing exceptional customer service and creating an inclusive environment where every member feels supported.


What You'll Bring

Current Personal Training certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent).

Experience providing one-on-one personal training and/or leading group fitness or small group training.

Experience or interest in coaching both adult and youth small group fitness classes.

Strong knowledge of exercise science, strength training, functional movement, and injury prevention.

Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.

A positive, motivating coaching style with the ability to inspire participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in physical education or related field preferred
  • Certification from a nationally recognized agency such as ACE, AFFA, ASCM, NSCA, and NSPA preferred
  • Create your own schedule! Flexible hours


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading classes and activities, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
  • Must be able to lift 45-pound weight plates
  • Must be able to work outside when weather permits
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Ability to listen, hear, and discern members & program participants' wants, needs, and interests
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergencies
  • Ability to demonstrate equipment used for exercise training
