High Level Roles & Responsibilities: Has the authority, responsibility and accountability to: * Operate machines and power equipment according to specific instructions for those machines power equipment. * Manually set up each machine or pull up the computer program in the case of equipment for parts production. * Run material through the machines checking for accuracy and quality. * Perform timely and regular calibrations and perform preventive maintenance on machines you are responsible for. * Ensure that the correct materials are being used for each product component. * Identify and use correct tooling to perform each operation. * Help ensure that 5S for the area are met. * Participate in continuous improvement activities. * Perform other duties as assigned. * Support the Quality Policy and Safety Policy. * Support the Vision and Guiding Principles of Kimball International and the facility Priorities of Focus and management policies. * Skills to Perform This Role: Interpersonal Skills * Ability to learn and adapt to new situations quickly. * Able to interact with diverse groups of people. * Must have a positive attitude. * Highly motivated and able to work independently. Technical Skills * Able to effectively use problem solving skills. * High level of parts knowledge related to area of responsibility. * Understand the effects of the material used on surfaces to be finished. * Able to transport and prepare a wide variety of parts for other operations. * Ability to learn and adapt to new parts and products.
