Job Summary

The Assembler I is responsible for assembling details, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies according to established instructions and quality standards. This role performs a variety of manufacturing operations, including assembly, soldering, brazing preparation, equipment operation, inspection, and packaging activities. The Assembler I works under the direction of a supervisor or group leader to complete assigned tasks while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Assemble details, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies using hand tools, bench tools, and power tools according to work instructions.
  • Load and unload contacts, solder shims or paste, and conductors onto carbon assembly boats for furnace brazing operations.
  • Load and unload carbon assembly boats onto belt furnaces for brazing processes.
  • Perform basic electrical and mechanical tests, including ground tests and dielectric tests.
  • Perform soldering operations and complete assembly tasks such as cutting insulation, stripping and assembling leads, forming wires, cutting solder shims, and cleaning materials with solvents.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment, including riveters, squeezers, drill presses, spinners, tappers, belt sanders, and bench grinders.
  • Load and unload automatic and semi-automatic equipment.
  • Inspect completed work for defects and report issues with products or equipment.
  • Perform detailing operations as assigned.
  • Prepare cartons, pack materials, and apply required stamps or labels.
  • Move materials as needed to support production activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and equipment.


Job Requirements



  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work the assigned schedule.
  • Ability to use hand tools, bench tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and manufacturing procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


Work Experience



  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
