(VTI) is hiring for: Supply Chain Intern York, Pennsylvania Job Title:Intern, Supply Chain Prepared:2023-12-05 Department:Supply Chain Management FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To:DirectorofSupply Chain Summary We areseekinga detail-oriented, analytically minded intern to join our Supply Chain team. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain, you will gain hands-on experience across procurement,Logistics,supplier management, and process improvement. This role offers meaningful exposure toreal businessdata and decision-making - your analysis will directly inform how we manage suppliers, resolve shortages, and drive cost savings. Responsibilities Reporting & Analytics Maintain and update Supply Chain KPI dashboards to provide leadership withaccurate,timelyvisibility into performance. Analyze procurement, supplier, inventory, and shortage data toidentifytrends, risks, and opportunities. Procurement & Supplier Analytics Prepare supplier performance scorecards covering quality, delivery, and responsiveness metrics. Supportspendanalysis and cost-saving initiatives through data gathering, cleansing, and modeling. Track supplier delivery performance andmaintainvisibility of open issues through resolution. Planning & Shortage Visibility Compile shortage reports by Manufacturing Order to support production planning and escalation. Monitor reschedules,cancellations, andbacklog trends and flag emerging risks. Assistwith demand vs. supply analysis to support capacity and inventory decisions. Process Improvement & Documentation Updatestandard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation for key supply chain workflows. Support audit and compliance activities, including data collection and documentation review. Identifyopportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in reporting and daily processes. Strategic Research Conduct market, supplier, and industry research to inform sourcing and category strategies. Benchmark best practices and support the development of business cases for supply chain initiatives. Conductspendanalytics and market intelligence, including supply/demand dynamics, pricing trends, and risk assessments. Supplier Management Support day-to-day supplier management, including regular manufacturing follow-ups and status updates. Assistwith supplier monitoring: review supplier on-time delivery daily, and process andsubmitmonthly purchasing team and supplier performance reports. Assistwith the handling of Non-Conforming Material (NCM), including notifying suppliers and processing rejected material for return. Logistics& ImportAnalytics Analyzelogisticsroutes, 3PL performance, and quote trends to recommend cost-saving initiatives. Continuously review current freight lanes and assess consolidation opportunities. Support the freight audit, payment, and reporting process. Assistwith claims processes, reporting, and related training. Qualifications/Skills Students are currentlyenrolled in classes leading to a degree in supply chain management, IndustrialEngineeringor other business disciplines. Skills requiredforsuccessin this role - Analytical, - Negotiation, - Self-motivated, - Problem solving - Team Work Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve, with a positive attitude and solid Communicationskills. Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 What You'll Gain Direct mentorship from the Director of Supply Chain and cross-functional exposure to procurement, planning, and operations. Hands-on experience with realsupplier, inventory, and production data. A portfolio of tangible deliverables - dashboards, scorecards, SOPs, and business cases - toshowcase infuture roles. Insight into how supply chain strategy connects to company financial performance.
