ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we're looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don't shy away from humanity's challenges but are determined to help solve them.

AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you're designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger - technology that moves the world forward.

THE ROLE:

The Product Development Group is seeking a Product Development Engineer to help bring next-generation datacenter platforms to market, including CPU- and GPU-based systems powering AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing workloads. In this role, you will collaborate across silicon, firmware, software, validation, manufacturing, and operations teams to develop, validate, and scale complex server and rack-level solutions from early bring-up through volume production. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure to system architecture, manufacturing, and hyperscale datacenter technologies while solving challenging technical problems that directly impact product quality, reliability, and customer success.

THE PERSON:

You are a curious and hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working across disciplines to deliver high-quality products. You combine strong analytical and debugging skills with a collaborative mindset, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have an interest in datacenter systems, computer architecture, and manufacturing processes. You are self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn new technologies while contributing to innovative solutions that enable next-generation computing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support bring-up, validation, debug, and deployment of datacenter platforms, including servers and rack-scale systems.
  • Develop and execute system-level test strategies covering functionality, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware, firmware, and software issues across key platform subsystems.
  • Analyze manufacturing, characterization, yield, and failure data to drive root-cause identification and corrective actions.
  • Develop and enhance manufacturing diagnostics, automated validation infrastructure, and test solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, optimize manufacturing readiness, and support successful production ramps.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience or academic exposure to system-level product development, validation, test, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Familiarity with datacenter server architectures, AI/HPC platforms, or related system technologies.
  • Knowledge of Linux or Unix operating systems and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in complex computing systems.
  • Understanding of technologies such as PCIe, networking, memory, power delivery, thermal management, and system firmware.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in cross-functional environments.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline is a plus.
