Job Description
- Plans and prepares production schedules for each phase of the manufacturing operations assigned, BAGS and/or FILMS, utilizing the tools, reports, and information available to ensure that all orders and/or order modifications are efficiently scheduled and processed to effectively meet customer expectations.
- Analyzes production specifications, manufacturing processes required, capability, and capacity, (equipment and personnel), to ensure resources are sufficient to meet the production schedule requirements based upon established manufacturing specifications including process lead-times and yields.
- Communicates, in a professional manner, with the manufacturing departments, various support functions, and Customer Service on the status of production schedules and/or orders so that, if required, schedule alterations can be made timely and efficiently to meet customer requirements.
Direct Production Planning Responsibility
- Responsible for the safety, health, and welfare of self and the safety of others in your department, assigned or unassigned.
- Maintain a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times.
- Organize and maintain appropriate files-includes paperwork and computer files, associated records, and other basic information required to facilitate order planning, processing, scheduling, and that meet any specific customer quality requirements.
- Remain current on computer systems knowledge, both SAP and PC systems software.
- Utilize team environment and team empowerment concepts to maintain sufficient knowledge of co-worker assignments to fulfill position duties and responsibilities when required.
- Utilize T.O.C. knowledge and concepts to manage and improve upon assigned responsibilities and overall department operations.
Scheduling Responsibility
- Verify that the specifics of each customer order, when received are adequately defined and documented.
- Provide accurate and efficient production schedules for the assigned manufacturing operations, in a timely and efficient manner, which meet our customer expectations and maximize production efficiencies.
- Review status of all in-process schedules and meet with production department designates daily.
- Assist with the establishment, control, and management of all in-process inventories produced and utilized by the manufacturing operations.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate semi-finished/finished goods inventory levels.
- Maintain knowledge of all manufacturing operations product line capabilities and capacities.
- Monitor and maintain all software systems used, reports, and associated files required for successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education
College degree and/or Production Control experience preferred, but not required.
Required Skills
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to make fast-pace decisions
- Analytical ability
- Personal Computer knowledge-Windows based software required
- SAP System production scheduling software knowledge and experience preferred
- Self-directed/empowered work ethic
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills
