Job Summary
Westat is seeking qualified candidates to make outgoing telephone calls to public and private K-12 schools to recruit their participation in a national survey for the National Science Foundation. This position requires working 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, at our Bethesda, Maryland, office, with working hours between 8:00am - 6:00pm.
Job Responsibilities
- Contact schools that have not responded to our initial mailings to encourage principals to participate and designate a school coordinator to facilitate communication during data collection.
- Work with administrative staff to help facilitate communication with principals.
- Assist principal/designated staff in identifying the best person at their school to serve as school coordinator.
- Ensure that principals have copies of the study materials to make an informed decision about the best person to serve as school coordinator.
- Arrange to send replacement materials to principals.
- Document all phone and email communication with schools using the internal study management system.
- Independently manage a large volume of case assignments.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience making outgoing phone calls.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, excel and online systems.
- US citizenship is required by contract.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience making outgoing phone calls to public and/or private K-12 schools.
- Experience with a survey management system.
- Ability to summarize a conversation in writing using accurate spelling and grammar.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to quickly establish rapport with school staff.
- Ability to think quickly and answer questions as appropriate.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Professional courtesy and proper telephone and email etiquette.
