Summary: Reporting to the VP of Retail Lending the candidate will assist in growing the Credit Union by: 1) initiating and building strong relationships with existing and new retailers and partners; 2) proactively developing and implementing effective operational and sales tactics in support of the strategic plan; and 3) serving as liaison between the credit union and retail partners to create engaged relationships which result in active promotion of APGFCU products and services, at times the candidate may be asked to support applications through funding. Ensures sales orientation is consistent with the credit union philosophy of people helping people.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development/Sales: Builds strong, loyal partnerships via face-to-face contact on an established meeting frequency. Ensures the APGFCU relationship adds value to the partners' lending options. Requires routine evaluation and communication of partner statistics, including loan volume; book to received ratio; and risk rate. Ensure consistent, personal and professional service is provided to build loyal partnerships. Responsible for developing and recommending new indirect retail partners for APGFCU. Responsible for specific, measurable goals for memberships, loans, credit life/disability insurance, cross selling and referrals based on credit union's strategic plan.

Marketing: Provide operational insight to effectively contribute to marketing and promotional plans to leverage business development opportunities within the retail, auto and manufactured home industry. Implement marketing plans to promote a positive relationship between indirect retail partners and APGFCU. Collaborate with marketing to develop material to effectively represent and promote the credit union.

Maintenance: Maintains a dynamic program that adapts to shifting market conditions. Continuously gathers data, conducts informal research, and communicates findings regarding internal and external lending programs. For the credit union to maintain a competitive edge this candidate must establish and recommend program and pricing adjustments based on the market and retain current volume by utilizing established reports to include internal data and external data. Candidate must establish, prepare, and maintain files, records, and reports necessary to conduct business.

Service: Provide consistent courteous, personal, and professional service. Develop strong loyalty by maintaining open dialog, oral and written, with partners staff and members.

Loan Service: Increase loan volume by actively and appropriately cross-selling loan products to meet goals established. To protect members and the Credit Union, promote credit life and disability insurance. Proactively interview members and review debt held at other financial institutions for transfer to Credit Union. Skills should demonstrate strong knowledge of individual member, use of common sense and credit union philosophy of "people helping people". Review loan denials for possible alternative recommendations for approval. Courteously communicate denials to dealers and members and offer alternative solutions as appropriate. Knowledge and skills will be maintained by keeping well-informed of all policies and procedures through regular training.

Additional: Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security as examples, if applicable).

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum High School education with additional specialized training equivalent to two years college. Experience may be credited in lieu of education.

Experience: Four to five years financial institution lending products and services. Three years of auto industry and finance experience. Three years of successful sale experience in a business-to- businesses sales environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of federal credit union laws, a background in the indirect lending industry, the knowledge of credit underwriting and risk-based pricing. Candidate must present strong negotiating and decision-making skills, have the ability to resolve disputes and be able to work under stressful situations. Interact in a professional manner with finance department personnel as well as retail, auto and manufactured home management i.e. GM and/ or park owner. Candidate must be able to work independently, have excellent communication skills; and have the ability to handle a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate ability to seek out and seize opportunities and take initiative with little or no direction. Demonstrate ability to effectively utilize a consultative sales approach including superior listening and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with computers and office applications such as Excel, Word, and Micro soft office.

Schedule: The ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the schedules of our partners, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Business Travel: Requires frequent travel to partners. Must maintain a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle to accomplish assigned duties. Must operate vehicle in safe manner in accordance with applicable laws.

Compensation: $69,800 to $111,800 annually

Offers are based on experience and education.
