Job Specific

  • Maintains outlet staffing levels so as to provide for optimal performance
  • Represents Beverage Manager in his/her absence
  • Administers and ensures adherence to departmental guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Responsible for smooth, efficient, cost effective operation of beverage outlets, to include; labor management, inventory control, security and proper use of operating supplies and equipment
  • Develops/approves schedules for outlet team members
  • Supervises daily activities related to production/delivery of quality product/service
  • Reviews daily payroll report, controls daily labor costs by reducing staff as business activity diminishes
  • Prepares beverage outlet purchase requisitions, assembles beverage outlet orders in beverage storeroom and delivers same to respective outlets
  • Attends required hotel meetings to keep informed of in-house activities, special promotions and upcoming events, maintain communications with other departments within the hotel
  • Communicates daily with outlet team members to obtain/provide current information regarding daily activities/functions and upcoming events
  • Evaluates individual team member performance, determines areas in need of improvement or requirements for advancement, establishes goals, objectives and training needs required to achieve same
  • Coaches, counsels, retrains personnel as needed in order to ensure superior levels of performance
  • Interviews, selects, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines departmental team members according to Loews Hotels standards
  • Follows New Hire Training and ongoing Star Service Competency program in accordance with hotel policy
  • Conducts meeting with outlet team members as required, to communicate effectively with all beverage department team members to ensure that they are kept current on pertinent hotel information and activities
  • Evaluate changes in guest needs, the hotels guest mix and industry competitive set, to recommend appropriate product/service and operational changes necessary to ensure guest and team member satisfaction, while maintaining market dominance and exceptional financial performance

Qualifications
  • Minimum two to five years progressive food & beverage leadership experience, in hotel/resort environment or an upscale free-standing restaurant required.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety, inventory control, meal planning and staff supervision in food service operations.
  • Knowledge of beverage selection, including wine, beer, and liquor preferred
  • Proficient in using POS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven experience working in high-volume Food and Beverage operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and written with team members, leaders and guests required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
