Major Duties

The Remittance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the remittance function, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing, reconciliation, and reporting. This role supervises remittance staff and ensures adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the remittance team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the posting of payments and ensure timely reconciliation to system reports and bank deposits.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of payment application across all payment sources (lockbox, ACH, credit card, etc.).
- Review and resolve complex payment discrepancies and escalations.
- Establish and monitor controls to ensure compliance with accounting policies and audit requirements.
- Manage customer refund processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Billing, Customer Service, Finance) and external customers to resolve payment issues.
- Monitor productivity, quality metrics, and service level expectations; implement improvements as needed.
- Oversee mail processing and document management related to remittance operations.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and training materials.
- Support audits by providing documentation and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all customer and financial information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in remittance, accounts receivable, or cash application functions.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of payment processing, reconciliation, and accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and payment platforms preferred.

Salary
Pay range (commensurate with skills and experience): $63,023 - $95,519 Annual Salary
