Job Description




As a Youth Facility Security Officer - Visitor Intake in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location supporting youth services operations. In this driving post, you will help manage entry and exit activity, monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by following site-specific access control procedures, screening entry and exit activity, and supporting security-related protocols at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, credential checks, and/or visitor logs to help control access to restricted areas and report unauthorized or unusual activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify security-related concerns, access issues, and/or policy violations.
  • Document daily activity, incidents, and/or access control events in required logs and reports, and support Allied Universal standards and site procedures throughout each shift.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with DPSS/DHS COLA requirements.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
