Project Planner

MISO
401(k)
United States, Indiana, Carmel
Jun 20, 2026
Description

As a Project Planner, you'll play a key role supporting our Generation Interconnection team. Your primary responsibility will be assisting with the management of interconnection projects and regional study cycles to ensure compliance with MISO's Generator Interconnection Procedures, helping safeguard the reliability of the transmission system as new generating resources seek to connect.

Working alongside a highly skilled team, you'll oversee queue activity, support the intake and processing of new interconnection requests, provide project management support to engineering staff, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on project-related processes and inquiries. Our team includes individuals with varied experience levels who work collaboratively to delegate technical and non-technical tasks-while continually looking for ways to improve efficiency, clarity, and consistency across workflows.

In this role, you'll provide project management support for resource interconnection projects and manage out-of-cycle requests for Surplus, Replacement, and Material Modification projects. A significant part of your impact will come from identifying opportunities for process improvement, contributing to enhancements that streamline project execution, strengthen compliance, and improve the stakeholder experience. You'll also maintain and oversee compliance documentation to ensure Tariff obligations are met.

As our Project Planner, you'll know you're successful after one year if you:

  • Confidently respond to inquiries and facilitate impromptu discussions regarding MISO's generator interconnection procedures.
  • Independently manage the day-to-day activities associated with study projects.
  • Proactively identify, recommend, and help implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Maintain thorough, well-organized documentation demonstrating adherence to Tariff and compliance requirements.
