YOUR OPPORTUNITY


The Lead Biogas Technician will be required to work in a team environment to accomplish the operations and maintenance objectives identified by Seaboard Foods RNG Management. Lead technicians are expected to have a solid understanding of RNG systems, including core mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation components, and to demonstrate consistent adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards. You will be responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting, executing preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement efforts to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of RNG facility operations. This role acts as the supervisory authority in lieu of an absent Area Supervisor of the operating area, requiring sound reasoning, decision-making, employee motivation, and communicative decisions for the team and
ensuring safe, reliable operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and Optimize Process Performance: Utilize all operational variables
    and other key metrics to access operating conditions and improve reliability and
    efficient methane concentrations in processed gas.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and correct complex process
    issues, including equipment malfunctions and all plant/system inefficiencies.
  • Plant Process and Gathering System Oversight: Troubleshoot all systems and
    plant processes by adjusting regimens and/or operating parameters and ensuring
    optimal system performance. Apply knowledge of temperature, pressure, and
    boiling point relationships to optimize process operations.
  • ADL/SMP/LS- Effluent Oversight: Analyze causes and impacts of effluent
    movements, communicate with farms, and implement corrective measures to

  • Maintain consistent operations.
  • Understand and apply theoretical principles behind mixing anaerobic digester liquids (ADLs) and using recycled water for barn pit flushing.
  • Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety and quality
    standards by an unwavering commitment to ensure safe practices and process
    consistency across systems.
  • Technician Mentorship and Teambuilding: Lead by example for attitude,
    aptitude, and positivity. Coach and mentor other technicians on how to work
    collectively, collaborate, and motivate towards meeting business goals.
  • Must respond to callouts as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned at management's discretion.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required:



  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret in the English language
    correspondence, general business reports, professional journals, technical
    procedures, governmental regulations, or reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
    customers and visitors.
  • 3+ years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical environment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable MVR.


Preferred:



  • Associate's degree or Technical school diploma or related degree program/field
    Biology and/or Chemistry experience preferred.
  • Previous advanced experience in the gas compression field and/or processing
    plant environment preferred.


SCHEDULE



  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
