Job Summary:
Common: Makes final determinations on systems requirements and technology selection and performs complex data analysis to ensure data management objectives are met. Provides guidance to lower level staff and serves as a subject matter expert to leadership. Unique: The Workday Enterprise Solutions Team (WEST) is responsible for the administration and optimization of Workday and related systems (including, but not limited to, Adaptive Planning, Jaggaer / ShopUW+, Huron Research Suite) for Finance, Human Resources, and Research Administration across the Universities of Wisconsin System, while focusing on people, processes, and technology. This team concentrates on continuous improvement, system maintenance, projects, release enhancements, support, and strategic integration of the Workday ERP and related systems to achieve business objectives. The Campus Partnership Business Analyst provides advanced embedded support to assigned units, taking direction from both WEST leadership and their assigned business units. They serve as a liaison for their units, leading process improvement projects, supporting business needs, and ensuring alignment with WEST and unit priorities. In addition to these core responsibilities, this role has a strong focus on data, reporting, and analytics. The Business Analyst leads complex data analysis efforts, resolves reporting challenges, and provides strategic guidance on the selection and use of reporting tools such as Workday Reporting, Tableau dashboards, and other analytics solutions. This role requires experience working with ERP data, as well as the ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive decision-making. The Business Analyst collaborates across functions to design and implement sustainable solutions, while also providing support to other members of the team. The Business Analyst builds strong relationships, demonstrates an understanding of business and enterprise application operations, and delivers hands-on support for process improvements and problem-solving. Analysts collaborate within the team and across functions to ensure sustainable, cross-functional solutions. The ideal candidate has strong analytical, technical, and communication skills; advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; and experience working independently and collaboratively. They bring expertise in data analysis, reporting strategy, and ERP systems, along with experience supporting organizational change or process improvement initiatives. The Business Analyst plays an important part in supporting the ongoing effectiveness of the WEST team and the assigned unit Key Responsibilities: This position involves the following duties: * Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. * Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and outputs. * Provide strategic guidance on reporting solutions, including selecting and designing tools such as Workday reports, Tableau dashboards, or other platforms to best meet business needs. * Translate complex business requirements into clear functional specifications for system configuration and development. To be successful in this position, you will need to intentionally collaborate with peers across WEST and work to actively foster a respectful, inclusive and safe team environment. Schedule will be determined with the selected finalist upon hire.
