What We're Looking For:

The Associate Director, Accounting Services is responsible for directing the centralized accounting team of Loews Hotels servicing hotels across the United States and the corporate office. Provides leadership on all components of accounting services to include general ledgers, income reporting and audits, fixed assets, revenue taxes, month end closings, cash and bank account reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and compliance audits. Responsible for recording transactions in accordance with GAAP and delivering exceptional experience for key stakeholders and team members. Collaborates closely with Loews Hotels Corporate Office disciplines and all Loews Hotels entities to ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. Provides input and feedback based on business flow to support brand and individual hotel strategies. Assists the Director to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the Accounting Services department in alignment with Brand Principles and Standards of Loews Hotels.

What You Will Do:

  • Directs monthly bank reconciliations to ensure timeliness, compliance, and accuracy.

  • Directs monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure timeliness, compliance, and accuracy.

  • Communicates material adjustments of reported financial results to executive leadership.

  • Conducts periodic balance sheet reviews with the Directors of Finance for each hotel location.

  • Directs the month end close process to ensure timeliness, compliance, and accuracy.

  • Directs the activities of the income audit and revenue recognition team to ensure timeliness, compliance and accuracy.

  • Directs the activities of the fixed asset team to ensure the accurate reporting of capital spend, depreciation, and asset disposals.

  • Directs the activities of the revenue tax team to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of tax filings.

  • Assists the Director with creating or enhancing internal controls.

  • Ensures internal controls are in place, adhered to, and monitored through monthly testing procedures.

  • Coordinates due diligence requests and random testing activities for internal and external audits.

  • Responsible for the hiring, onboarding and training of all departmental new hires.

  • Responsible for the training of Hotel Directors of Finance on all responsibilities related to FSC Accounting Services.

  • Maintains and updates training documentation as needed.

  • Responsible for team member engagement and creating a positive work environment.

  • Reports performance statistics and workflow metrics to executive management.

  • Identifies opportunities and recommendations for improvement;Implements action plans.

  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.

  • Required to attend all training sessions and meetings.

  • Assists the Director in being accountable for labor and operating expense spend of the department in accordance with budgetary guidelines.

  • Develops the leadership team in alignment with Loews Hotels standards and expectations.

  • Maintains a positive, quality environment that positions Loews Hotels as the employer of choice in approved hiring markets; establishing policies and protocols collectively as a center.

  • Other duties as assigned

Your Experience Includes:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience required. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and SOX Controls
