This position is intended for an individual with experience in mouse models of disease, and a background in immune tolerance and immunometabolism, to study the interaction between immune regulatory cells and Oral tolerance. The individual will work under the supervision of the lab principal investigator, Dr. James Gardner. Responsibilities in the laboratory include designing and executing vivo experiments using transgenic mouse models, performing Oral tolerance induction and adoptive transfer assays, phenotyping immune cell populations by multiparameter flow cytometry, preparation of manuscripts, and contribution to collaborative research projects, as well as working with graduate students, technicians, and trainees. Specialist appointed at the Full rank must have a PhD (or equivalent degree) in biology, cellular and molecular biology, immunology or a related field or at least 10 or more years of research experience. Candidates must have effective oral and written communication, good organizational and interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, proficiency in conventional and novel methodologies such as bioinformatics and computational biology approaches, ability to multitask in a deadline-oriented environment.
