FULL SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the management and maintenance of the central warehouse, supporting the efficient flow of parts inventory, sales inventory, maintenance and repair items, and miscellaneous business supplies. The Warehouse Supervisor oversees warehouse personnel, processes, and inventory controls while working closely with internal departments to support operational needs and customer service standards.



  • Supervises warehouse employees, including hiring, training, development, performance management, discipline, and terminations
  • Conducts performance evaluations and determines compensation increases
  • Schedules personnel to ensure proper shift coverage; approves and schedules overtime as needed
  • Oversees receipting of all purchased goods and inventory in required business systems
  • Ensures parts, maintenance items, and sales inventory are delivered to appropriate locations within defined timelines
  • Defines, manages, and enforces processes that comply with Contamination Control Standards
  • Oversees inbound and outbound flow of product, including receiving, stocking, transferring, and shipping inventory
  • Manages daily bin count process and reviews bin count reports to achieve accuracy goals
  • Oversees unloading of stock trucks, verification of quantities, inventory receipting, and distribution to locations
  • Coordinates the transfer of parts between stores, including verification, documentation, and shipment preparation
  • Resolves inventory discrepancies by processing shipping exceptions, adjusting inventory, and collaborating with Inventory Operations and other store locations
  • Inspects inventory for damage, documents discrepancies, files damage claims, and ensures damaged inventory is relieved and replenished
  • Manages customer, service department, and vendor returns, including part inspection, accuracy verification, and inventory processing
  • Oversees returned core processing, ensuring proper verification, documentation, and handoff to Core Processing
  • Ensures return documentation aligns with inspected product and shipping requirements
  • Trains and schedules training for warehouse personnel on forklift operation, inventory receipting, shipping, hose building, bin counts, daily inventory control, and return procedures
  • Inspects warehouse for cleanliness and safety; ensures end-of-day closing tasks are completed
  • Promotes and manages all customer experience standards
  • Actively promotes and manages safety across warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Supports Western States strategic programs, projects, and initiatives as needed
  • Works within and promotes company vision, mission, and values
  • Performs other duties as assigned



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Dynamics AX parts procedures
  • Working knowledge of forklift operation and ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Strong knowledge of outbound shipping procedures
  • Strong knowledge of hose production
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Consistent attendance



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Minimum of three years of comparable parts or warehouse experience required
  • One year of lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively (speak, read, write, and comprehend English)



PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:



  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, reach, push, pull, lean, twist, and bend for extended periods
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, noise, and dirt
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs in accordance with Western States Lifting Safe Work Practices
  • Ability to meet all safety requirements for applicable policies
