Job Description
General Purpose of Job: The Registered Nurse will function under the direction of Manager of Patient Care and NP and maintain responsibility for daily ambulatory nursing activities.Will assist manager of patient care with leadership duties.
Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Provides care for clients under established protocol and/or under direction-supervision of the Manager of Patient Care. Coordinates care with the individual client, family, and other health care providers as necessary.
- Nursing assessment.
- Provides appropriate teaching for clients and their families based on medical and nursing diagnoses following the nursing process to enhance health promotion and disease prevention.
- Phone triage.
- Procedure instructions and orders.
- Maintain supplies inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assist with the hiring, orienting, in-service, directing, scheduling, evaluating of department caregivers using approved guidelines.
- Assist with the determination of department operations, schedules, staffing patterns, needs and hours.
- Complete payroll tasks for assigned caregivers.
- Assist with the development, interpretation and administration of department policies, procedures, protocols, and department record keeping.
- Assists with tracking of assigned caregiver licensure, certifications, and annually competencies, and mandatory learning modules.
- Provide initial and on-going EPIC training including standardized documentation, application optimization/setup, new process and upgrade implementation, elbow support, and workflow to registered nurses.
- Maintains an atmosphere that supports and encourage high performance, teamwork, customer service and continual improvement with the nursing area
Job Requirements
| Work Experience |
* Minimum of 2 years experience in Cardiovascular * 1 year contact/charge nurse or increasing levels of responsibility * Previous experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. |
| Education |
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. * Current State of Michigan Board of Nursing License * Current BCLS |
| Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. * Demonstrates ability to function in a team environment, including excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, providers, and co-workers. * Provides care for patients which is age-specific/appropriate to meet their physical and safety needs, psychosocial concerns, and educational level. * EKG knowledge. * Basic heart arrhythmia and cardiac medication knowledge * Requires visual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor patients condition and operate office equipment. |
