DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will focuses on a wide range of maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks that support the operation of Commonwealth buildings and equipment. Your work will help create safe, clean, and dependable spaces where communities can learn, work, provide, and receive important services. Duties in this role include:
- Equipment Responsibilities: Select the proper tools, equipment, and supplies for each assignment; take care of assigned tools; make minor repairs to small motorized equipment; and report larger issues to supervisors
- Carpentry: Install partitions, fix floors and floor coverings, repair a variety of fixtures from towel paper towel dispensers to doors, and assist with larger construction projects
- Electrical: Test emergency lighting, repair and clean parts, and help electricians on major projects
- Plumbing: Address clogs, leaks, and fixture repairs and assist plumbers on more complex plumbing tasks
- Painting: Prepare surfaces, make small repairs, and apply interior and exterior paint to various materials
- General Maintenance: Help with general upkeep of the building, assist in cleaning areas in and around buildings, and participate in snow removal and other miscellaneous tasks

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Essential Employee - required to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
