Design Engineer II (Level 2)

Pay: $41.50 - $46.80/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Design Engineer II to support the design and development of components and systems from concept through production. This role builds upon foundational engineering responsibilities with increased ownership of complex designs, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product development and launch.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design and develop components, parts, and systems from concept through production
  • Perform design feasibility studies, cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection
  • Create and maintain 3D models and layouts using CATIA V5 (V6 preferred)
  • Execute hose, pipe, harness, and cable routing
  • Prepare, review, and release 2D and 3D engineering drawings
  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and manufacturing launch activities
  • Verify designs meet quality, cost, performance, and regulatory requirements
  • Recommend and implement design improvements for production optimization
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of engineering design experience
  • Strong experience in concept development, specification setting, and layout creation
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5 (required); V6 preferred
  • Experience with 2D/3D drawing creation and release
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience with hose, pipe, harness, and cable routing
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and part construction
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
  • Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change processes
