Position Overview We are seeking an experienced *International Customer Service Representative* to support global customers and distributors by managing international orders, coordinating shipments, and providing high-level customer service. This role requires a solid understanding of international business operations, export documentation, and cross-cultural communication to ensure timely, accurate, and successful global transactions.
The position works closely with internal departments and the sales team to deliver exceptional service and maintain strong international customer relationships. Key Responsibilities * Respond to customer and sales inquiries via phone and email regarding product availability, shipping, and general company information * Receive, process, and manage international customer orders * Coordinate international shipments and delivery schedules * Identify, prepare, and manage required export and shipping documentation in collaboration with the distribution team * Resolve customer inquiries and complete customer quote requests * Maintain and update the customer database with accurate information * Interpret and apply terms and conditions, special pricing agreements, and customer contracts * Recommend additional or alternative products or shipping solutions based on customer needs * Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction * Support the international department with marketing analysis, reporting, and travel arrangements * Coordinate international trade shows from registration through setup * Assist in the development of international marketing materials (brochures, flyers, point-of-purchase materials, newsletters) * Collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization * Participate in minimal international travel as required * Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications (Must Haves) * 1+ year of customer service experience * Experience handling international customer orders * ERP system experience * Strong phone and email communication skills * Experience working with global customers or distributors * Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex situations Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves) * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking data and order entry * Strong professional client email communication skills * Associate's or Bachelor's degree (highly preferred) * Experience supporting cross-cultural or multi-time-zone customers * Bilingual skills are a plus Soft Skills & Competencies * Customer-focused and service-driven mindset * Positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills * Detail-oriented and highly organized * Self-motivated and able to work independently * Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills * Comfortable handling challenges in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Training * Clean, organized office setting with a warehouse on site * Approximately 40 employees at this location * Structured training program lasting approximately 6 months *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Zurich, IL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
