Hospital Billing / Insurance FollowUp (EPIC) Entry-Level \| Hospital Revenue Cycle \| Training Provided Looking to break into hospital billing or grow your experience in insurance followup & denied claims? This is a strong entrylevel opportunity to get handson experience working real hospital accounts inside EPIC while building valuable payer and denial knowledge. What You'll Be Doing (Day to Day) * Work insurance followup out of EPIC work queues and an Aged Trial Balance (ATB) report * Prioritize highdollar and aged accounts and work claims from oldest to newest * Review accounts to identify paid, denied, or underpaid claims * Actively work denials (registration, authorization, etc.) * Contact insurance companies & payer portals to resolve unpaid or denied claims * Request medical records, upload documentation, and follow up through portals * Communicate with patients to update coordination of benefits * Take action on anything needed to get claims paid * Analyze denial trends and partner with leadership to reduce repeat issues Productivity & Tools * Target: ~50+ accounts per day (varies based on dollar amount & complexity) * Systems you'll use daily: * EPIC * Payer portals * OnBase (scanning system) * Excel (ATB / aging feedback & tracking) What They're Looking For * Interest in hospital billing, insurance followup, or revenue cycle * Comfortable working multiple accounts and staying organized * Strong Excel skills (sorting, managing spreadsheets) * HS Diploma required * Hospital billing or EPIC experience is a plus, not required Skills You'll Build * Insurance followup & appeals * Denied claim resolution * Hospital / facility billing workflows * EPIC & payer portal navigation * Understanding EOBs and payer requirements Interview Questions to Expect * Which payers or payer portals have you worked with? * What's the highestdollar account you've followed up on with an insurance company? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
