Title: Camp Nurse Department: CEWD Operations Campus Location: Arnold/Main Campus Salary Range: $45/hr Work Mode: This position requires a full-time in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations. Hours Per Week:20 hrs per week Work Schedule:M-F 8am-4pm (varies) Position Type:Hourly and Temporary, Non-Exempt Position Summary The camp nurse provides oversight for the health care of campers on campus for Kids in College summer camps and ensures that the camp medical program meets all requirements of the Maryland Department of Health and is in compliance with state day camp regulations.

Estimated time distribution: June: 40 hours (flexible) July: 70-80 hours (Mondays 8am-2pm; daily hours on-campus/otherwise available on-call for camps) August: 20 hours (Week of 8/3 only, Monday 8am-2pm; daily hours on-campus/otherwise available on-call for camps) Job Duties and Responsibilities 1. Review camper health forms with a medical concern; 2. Contact and meet with the parents and campers with a health concern to develop an appropriate action plan for the individual camper; 3. Train camp staff to administer epi-pens and inhalers; 4. Meet with staff weekly to go over campers health concerns and the appropriate protocol to follow in case of a health emergency; 5. Attend to all sick or injured campers/staff; 6. Receive all camper medications, maintain all medications except for emergency medications in the health room, dispense mediation at the appropriate times and return medications to parent at end of camp; 7. Maintain medical records including medication given to campers and first aid care provided; 8. Complete appropriate incident reports when required; 9. Be available and accessible for campers medical needs; 10. Meet with the college nurse and assistant director at the end of camp to make recommendations for how to improve/continue camp safety.
