Job Description

Grow your career with Ingram Marine Group.The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as the strategic liaison between assigned business units and the Information Services (IS) organization. This role ensures that technology solutions, processes, and services align with business goals. The BRM is responsible for understanding business needs, translating them into actionable requirements, and guiding initiatives from concept through delivery. The BRM role creates a leverage model that maximizes the value of developers within the organization.

What you will be doing:

Relationship Management

  • Meeting regularly with assigned business areas to understand operational needs, challenges, and upcoming initiatives.
  • Building strong partnerships with business leaders to ensure alignment between business priorities and IS capabilities.
  • Servingas the primary point of contact for technology-related discussions, questions, and escalations.

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

  • Documenting issues, enhancement requests, and improvement opportunities related to business applications and processes.
  • Translatingbusiness needs into clear, actionable requirements for IS teams.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation including requirements, process flows, meeting notes, and project artifacts.

Process Improvement

  • Collaboratingwith business stakeholders to analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Recommending process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce manual work, and support strategic goals.
  • Ensuringproposed solutions align with best practices and organizational standards.

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Working with IS teams to define project scope, timelines, resource needs, and deliverables.
  • Supporting project execution by coordinating tasks, monitoring progress, and identifying risks or roadblocks.
  • Facilitatingcommunication between business units and technical teams to ensure shared understanding and smooth project delivery.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Providingregular updates to business and IS leadership on project status, risks, and decisions.
  • Ensuringstakeholders are informed of changes, timelines, and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promotingtransparency and alignment through clear, consistent communication.

Portfolio & Demand Management

  • Helping prioritize business requests based on strategic value, urgency, and resource availability.
  • Maintaining visibility into the pipeline of enhancements, issues, and projects for assigned business areas.
  • Supporting planning and budgeting discussions by providing insight into technology needs and impacts.
Qualifications

  • Strong problemsolving, critical thinking, and process improvement skills.
  • Solid business acumen and collaborative working style.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Additional Information

Working Environment & Conditions:

  • Standard office environment; ability to sit at workstation for extended periods of time
  • Travel for periodic boat rides and facility visits to gain first-hand knowledge of vessel and field operations
  • Position requires travel up to 15% of the time
