Essential Duties and Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
As an innovative leader, we are looking for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our LATAM Commercial Team as Regional Sales Manager. You will be working at the Gates InterAmerica Weston office and responsible for traveling to and selling Gates products throughout the assigned territory. You will be responsible for selling and promoting the Gates Fluid Power and Power Transmission product lines for the Gates Automotive and Industrial Replacement Markets.
The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales - GIA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned beyond functions listed below:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accomplish corporate goals. Regional sales volumes range from $8 to $10 million dollars.
- Your goals will include meeting or exceeding an annual sales quota along with achieving specific strategic initiatives which align with higher level organizational goals.
- You'll use a consultative selling approach, your technical expertise, and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with both distributors and end users towards these goals.
- You will research customer needs and develop an understanding of their applications, then apply the proper Gates technologies to improve their overall cost of ownership and productivity.
- You'll work in collaboration with an amazing group of individuals at Gates, across all business functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (to name a few):
- Developing and executing growth strategies for both existing accounts as well as new prospective customers.
- Accelerating growth of new Gates products and solutions.
- Pursuing opportunities to expand our business in new markets.
- Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments within our target markets.
- Making regular sales calls to pursue and discuss opportunities, providing training and other technical support, and increasing overall mind share.
- Following up on leads (both self-generated and provided through marketing initiatives).
- Timely and accurate utilization of our CRM systems.
- Developing and maintaining short, mid, and long-term sales plans.
- Communicating high value sales activity to contribute to effective product and service planning.
- Providing top-quality Gates customer service for all clients and prospects.
- Monitoring and communicating competitive activities to identify opportunities and/or countermeasures.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or 8 years of equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the broader organization, and how their role and/or function fit into the strategic plan and overall direction of Gates.
- Demonstrates understanding of the organization strategy so everyone knows how their contribution furthers organizational success.
- Decisions reinforce the business plan and strategy by building a disciplined, consistent approach with measurements of success.
- Thinks strategically with ability to convert strategy into operational actions. He/she has an innovative approach and an ability to think "out of the box".
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving with special emphasis on closing the sale.
- A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technological trends and how they would apply to real world projects.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to accurately complete daily, weekly, or monthly expenses or other assigned reports on time, including organizing sales prospects, sales planning, or other sales support projects assign.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills include formal presentation skills before both small and large groups, including customers, peers and managers.
- Demonstrated ability to drive and report metrics. Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be self-confident and able to plan, organize, implement, and follow-up, accept and adapt to change while being prompt, professional and responsive to customer needs.
- Industrial and Automotive sales experience a plus.
- Fluent in the Spanish and English language both oral and written.
- Sufficient knowledge of cultural, political and economic climate to initiate or recommend actions to increase sales.
- Up to 50% - 70% International travel is required.
- Experience with Oracle and Salesforce CRM applications a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company visa sponsorship.
