Position Summary

This position reports to the department Director/designee. Under general supervision, performs complex customer service functions, day to day document verification and revision, automated and manual/electronic data entry, assistance with performance improvement activities, assist in all nursing department operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responds and researches complex inquiries from customers that the department serves and clarifies or solves issues based on policies and procedures.
  • Composes complex correspondence and creates documentation/records.
  • Maintains a record of interactions and updates department leaders on client issues or trends that require improvements and suggests improvements.
  • Develops and updates department communication or records while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provides administrative support by accurately transcribing information or notes and performing data entry
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
    1. college coursework in business administration, communications, public relations or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
      • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
      • Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
      • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
      • Bachelor's degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
    2. responsible work experience in customer services, public relations, office administration, business and financial operations, healthcare administration or other closely related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Skill in understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Knowledge of clerical and office procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheet software, managing files and records, designing forms, and managing inventory.
