Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II Classification: Salaried Exempt Reports To: Director of Engineering Department: Engineering About the Role This role will be based out of Elgin, IL. Reporting to the Director of Engineering. Our primary equipment focuses on paper systems and paper consumables. Responsibilities and projects include innovation, machine design, consumable development, concept development and evaluation, test plan development and execution, and other related activities. The Mechanical Engineer II will research, refine, develop and design new and retrofitted production machinery. This will include various mechanical devices and transportation systems. The development of this equipment will also utilize input from product manager, executive management, and director of engineering. The scope developed encompasses work with customers, engineering team, vendors, product managers to identify needs and translate into products and/or processes, effectively meeting requirements for safety, performance, durability, and cost. Balance multiple projects concurrently using prioritization skills to effectively execute company strategy. Interface with field technicians to support ongoing equipment issues. Work closely with internal and external equipment builders related to BOM, running engineering changes, and value engineering initiatives. Stay current with new and future technologies and software relevant to the existing platform and projected product direction. Advanced knowledge in beta testing, product selection, evaluating and choosing optimized technology to meet our future needs. Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)

Position Type Full time Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis's total compensation package. The annual base pay range for this role is estimated to be in the low $100,000s to $150,000.
