Description

This position is responsible for performing technical reports, ensuring quality control, and inspecting the shipment of units to other Departments, as well as keeping Management informed of problems to ensure quality control is maintained and meets all levels of quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Performs Quality Control duties by performing daily quality control inspection of products to ensure standards and specifications are met; by identifying and reporting all problems to QC Supervisor; by processing non-conforming units to send to repair department area; by sending defective units to the designated rejected parts area.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping. Including: first article, in process, and final release of product to ensure conformance to company specifications.
  • Perform additional inspections during various stages of production through shipping preparation and final inspection.
  • Keeps detailed log by completing documentation as required; Maintain QC logs as assigned; by analyzing failures and perform root-cause analysis; by closing MRR documentation when repair is complete; by utilizing computers to document or access information as necessary.
  • Maintains equipment by performing routine maintenance duty for tools and equipment; by regularly performing quality and safety checks; and by ensuring work area is orderly and clean.
  • Maintains and documents tool calibration throughout the facility where applied, per ISO 9001 standards.
  • Keeps QC Management Informed by reporting problems immediately verbally or in writing.
  • Manages QC tasks and resources by using company resources efficiently to maximize productivity and accomplish tasks on time.
  • Complies with established procedures by learning, understanding, and following all policies and procedures of the QC department to work effectively and to meet the QC job expectations of the company.
  • Contributes to the team effort by being flexible in work assignments; by covering for other Staff as needed; and by accomplishing related tasks when reasonably requested.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attaining job-related certification; by keeping up on industry trends; and by applying that knowledge to the job.
  • Accept and improve on constructive feedback by being open to feedback from peers, supervisors, managers, and clients.
  • Improve QC processes by examining departmental work processes, research procedures, administrative procedures, etc.; and by recommending changes where appropriate.
  • Assist with the rework of defective products when necessary.
  • Upholds Work Standards by maintaining professional conduct and appearance; Seeking assistance when needed; and by using established communication channels.
  • Understand ISO9001 Quality Systems and procedures.
  • Supporting company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, ISO policies, and good quality control practices.
  • Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures, and current Good Manufacturing Practices.


NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by actively participating in company safety programs.
  • Comply with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program.


SKILLS:



  • Must be tactful, mature, flexible, and able to successfully respond to multiple work tasks.
  • Knowledgeable in Basic Hand Tools, Can Read and use Calipers, Micrometers Tape Measure, Dial indicators and apply applicable templates.
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Able to generate inspection and non conformance reports.
  • Must be able to use a computer and use applications Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel, and be able to design custom reports as needed.
  • Familiar with the Metric System.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written in English.


WORK SCHEDULE:



  • Monday - Thursday OR Tuesday to Friday
  • 6:45am - 5:30pm


PAY RANGE:



  • $21.00-$24.00HR


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:



  • Quality Supervisor
  • Quality and MRP Software Manager


SUBORDINATE STAFF:



  • None


KNOWLEDGE:



  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training in a manufacturing setting preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

    MENTAL:



    • Language Skills: Ability to effectively respond to questions from Management and Staff in English.
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
    • Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply knowledge and sense of understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Intelligence to assess and identify damaged parts and products during the manufacturing process.
    • Problem solving mentality and a results driven approach.
