Principal Technical Director
, interfacing with senior government stakeholders, industry partners, warfighter communities, and contractors. This position requires a visionary leader who can craft innovative strategies, align technical solutions to operational needs, and oversee the development of
federated digital ecosystem
capabilities to drive mission-critical outcomes.
Acting as an essential liaison between government leadership and technical teams, this individual will lead efforts to integrate robust network architectures, enhance warfighter capabilities, and secure digital ecosystem solutions that are responsive to dynamic mission requirements across multiple domains.
This role combines high-level technicalexpertise, systems integration skills, and operational depth, setting the foundation for scalable digital frameworks that deliver resilient and interoperable solutions while ensuring mission success at the strategic and tactical levels.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Ecosystem Development:
- Serve as thePrincipal Technical Director, providing leadership and expert advisement onfederated digital ecosystem architecturesto align with government priorities, operational requirements, and evolving threats.
- Act as a trusted interface between senior government stakeholders and contractor teams, driving collaboration, strategic alignment, and systems integration across mission-critical initiatives.
- Shape solutions to optimize interoperability acrossnetwork topology,warfighter-driven ecosystems,cyber frameworks, and joint operations environments.
- Guide technical roadmaps and architectural frameworks for seamless digital ecosystem scalability and resilience, addressing current and future multi-domain defense priorities.
Technical Innovation and Systems Integration:
- Leadnetwork topology developmentand integration across system architectures to ensure operational performance and cybersecurity resilience in federated environments.
- Optimizewarfighter technologies by integrating tools and methodologies aligned with mission-drivenCONOPS (Concept of Operations)andCONEMP (Concept of Employment)frameworks.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and sustainment ofcyber-focused architecturesand secure communication systems for mission assurance.
- Provide system-level analysis, performance diagnostics, and simulationexpertiseto enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness.
Operational Coordination and Multi-Domain Integration:
- Support the seamless functionality of federated digital ecosystems acrossmulti-domain operations, ensuring interoperability within Command & Control (C2) architectures.
- Drive adoption and refinement of emerging technologies such assecure cloud ecosystems, advanced AI systems, and next-generation data-sharing frameworks to empower warfighters and decision-makers.
- Collaborate with cyber and network SMEs to integrate real-time threat detection, countermeasure tools, and secure data solutions into government operations.
- Maintain alignment with Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) andMission Partner Environment (MPE)initiatives to ensure unified operations across warfighter systems and allied networks.
Program Stewardship and Stakeholder Communication:
- Lead technical discussions and program reviews, delivering actionable data and insights to senior leadership and program stakeholders.
- Deliver comprehensive technical documentation, performance analyses, and data-driven reports aligned with DoD goals and benchmarks.
- Cultivate relationships with key government leaders and program managers, ensuring technical solutionsremainaligned with operational priorities and strategic goals.
- Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams, promoting mission-focused innovation and performance excellence across digital and operational ecosystems.
Required Skills:
- 15+ years of experiencein systems engineering, advanced network topology development, cyber architecture design, and warfighter operational support.
- Provenexpertisein designing, integrating, and implementingfederated digital ecosystemsto meet the demands of government missions and warfighter readiness.
- Extensive experience interfacing with senior DoD leadership and cross-functional contractor teams to align technical capabilities with missionobjectives.
- Mastery ofnetwork architecture, cybersecurity frameworks, and multi-domain system interoperability.
- Deep knowledge ofwarfighter CONOPSandCONEMPmethodologies, ensuring technical solutions align with operational concepts.
- Expertisein guiding cyber resilience initiatives, including Zero Trust architectures, threat detection systems, and secure data pipelines.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to advocate for technical, operational, and strategic solutions to diverse audiences.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and digital twins as applied to multi-domain digital ecosystems.
- Experience supporting classified data-sharing environments within SCIFs, ensuring compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines and cybersecurity mandates.
- Strategic knowledge of DoD initiatives, includingJADC2, Mission Partner Environment (MPE), and global allied interoperability solutions.
- Operational experience in warfighter communities or environments, enabling direct contributions to mission support and readiness.
- Strong program management sensibilities, coordinating technical deliverables whilemaintainingalignment with mission timelines and strategic development goals.
- Advanced degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degreein Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical fieldrequired.
- Master's degreepreferred.
Clearance Requirements:
- ActiveTOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibilityrequired.Due to clearance requirements, U.S citizenship isrequired.
Location:
Flexible, with priority posting in Ohio (OH), Virginia (VA), and Alabama (AL).
