Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Walker in NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site staff and visitors, and respond to concerns with calm, professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors at a government location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, public areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations, noting hazards and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification and/or authorization as required, directing visitors to appropriate areas and supporting orderly entry and exit.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with de-escalation, notifications, and coordination with site leadership and/or public responders as directed.
  • Document patrols, observations, and incidents in written and/or electronic logs and reports, communicating timely updates to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 1+ years of security experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
