In this customer-facing individual contributor role, you will own the full lifecycle of complex state implementations-from launch through renewal-serving as the primary strategic advisor and escalation point for state leaders. You will navigate political dynamics, complex data environments, and operational intricacies to ensure successful implementation, adoption, and long-term contract value across full statewide and opt-in models. Essential Responsibilities: Account Ownership & Strategic State Success
Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the main point of contact for state-level implementations, owning the entire customer journey for your defined state book of business. Act as the accountable party for account success, retention, and renewal of high-stakes contracts. Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with and advise state leaders, district leaders, school admins, teachers, and other decision-makers. You will navigate complex or emotionally charged client relationships, acting as a stabilizing force during implementation challenges. Strategic Planning: Regularly review plans, objectives, and initiatives to ensure they remain aligned with the evolving needs of States, Districts, Schools, Teachers, and Students. Develop advanced success plans that align with state goals to facilitate successful contract continuation. Cultivate robust partnerships with account leaders (instructional and technical) to develop long-term student achievement strategies and set multi-year goals. Trusted Advisor: Act as a consultant and coach to state leaders, defining and measuring the realization of curriculum objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact, collaborating closely with internal teams to deliver a superior experience.
Implementation, Onboarding & Complex Project Orchestration
Complex Project Orchestration: Oversee and execute complex logistical requirements specific to state contracts, including:
North Carolina: Managing quarterly complex invoicing, reading camps, and enrollment system updates. Louisiana: Coordinating presence at the Teacher Leader Summit and managing biannual invoicing. Connecticut: Overseeing contractor-managed Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs) and complex internal collaborations.
Project Management & Onboarding: Execute detailed project plans for implementations. Create and manage state tracking documents, implementation documents, and agendas for state-specific meetings to define project priorities, ensuring launch readiness and success. Track meeting notes and documentation meticulously. Oversee complex logistical and operational requirements specific to state contracts (e.g., managing complex invoicing in NC, coordinating Summit presence in LA, or overseeing DSAs in CT). Risk Management: Proactively identify risks, political launch blockers, and contractual non-compliance issues; alert stakeholders and implement solutions or workarounds to keep projects on track. Operational Excellence: Leverage project tracking tools for consistency; maintain knowledge of project status to communicate effectively with internal and external partners. Manage state-specific inboxes to ensure timely responses and update state-specific websites with relevant resources and announcements. Resource Coordination: Coordinate the development of Professional Learning plans and involve product specialists as needed to meet state requirements. Provide 1:1 support and/or outreach to districts within the state as needed to ensure the "last mile" of adoption is successful.
Business Value & Data Analysis
Data & Technical Oversight: Drive the resolution of enrollment issues and data discrepancies, particularly in states without Master Data Management (MDO) or dedicated support structures. Data-Driven Insights: Plan and prepare data for reviews, and support the presentation of data in person and/or in remote data review sessions. Review and analyze account data to understand usage trends, develop actionable insights, and navigate difficult reporting groups. Share these impact reviews with state leaders to inform ongoing curriculum strategy and drive ROI. Contract & Revenue Management: Develop a deep understanding of customer contracts, including complex, non-standard invoicing schedules (quarterly vs. biannual), to ensure compliance and proactively make recommendations. Drive contract retention and expansion by identifying renewal risks, surfacing growth opportunities, and aligning state outcomes to long-term curriculum strategy. Health Monitoring: Accurately report and monitor the health of state engagements, partnering with internal teams on service level reporting to drive corrective action plans where needed.
Customer Enablement & Continuous Improvement
Webinar Strategy: Support state-specific webinars, including content creation and supporting/leading live webinar sessions to train and inform users. Process Optimization: Continue to identify and leverage technology solutions to streamline and personalize interactions at all levels of State Contracts. Feedback Loops: Collect and incorporate customer feedback by regularly soliciting input through surveys, interviews, and active listening. Use this feedback to refine processes, address risks, and enhance the overall customer experience.
Cross-Functional Strategy & Expertise
Escalation Resolution: Intervene when support tickets are slow or incorrect (e.g., Alaska) and troubleshoot internal roadblocks across Sales, Professional Development (PD), Customer Success (CS), and Product teams. Internal Partnership: Partner with internal teams to support state implementations, resolve customer issues, and inform the approach to customer lifecycle processes. Customized Reporting: Manage frequent and customized data requests, ensuring nuanced data reviews for state partners. Event Strategy: Direct strategy for in-person support at key state events, such as Science of Reading (SoR) conventions and Teacher of the Year (TOY) data reviews. Product Mastery: Maintain expertise across Amplify's suite of products (focusing on Literacy and/or STEM) to advise state accounts across all curriculum needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or related work experience. Experience: 5+ years of experience in Account Management or Customer Success, with a proven track record managing large-scale district, state, or enterprise-wide implementations or adoptions. Data Fluency: Deep understanding of data enrollment systems, reporting groups, and Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs). Escalation Management: Proven track record in handling high-stakes customer escalations and fostering positive resolutions. Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all executive levels; ability to create detailed reports and meeting minutes. Strategic & Project Management Skills: Strong strategic thinking, organizational skills, project management skills, and the ability to drive results independently in a fast-paced environment. Independence: Resourcefulness, independent problem-solving ability, and comfort operating under ambiguity. Financial Acumen: Experience reviewing and managing complex, non-standard invoicing schedules (quarterly vs. biannual).
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry Knowledge: Experience in education, school/district leadership, or educational publishing/technology. Subject Matter: Background in Elementary Literacy and/or STEM; experience teaching or using Amplify products. Technical Proficiency: Experience with Salesforce, Gainsight, and Google Suite.

The gross salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
