About the Role:

The Litigation Technical Operations and Claims Manager is a strategic leadership role with two primary responsibilities: (a) overseeing the technical aspects of litigation support and (2) managing a paralegal team that supports litigation claim and matter management. Secondary responsibilities will include supporting general litigation operational needs as well as litigation and claims management across all areas of litigation, including employment, product liability, intellectual property, and government investigations.

The ideal candidate will have a background in data and document management and the use of AI in optimizing the provision of legal services; experience leading paralegals in supporting litigation claim and matter management; and project organization, change-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

People Leadership: This role requires a leader with strong people management skills and experience. The candidate should also have a proven track record in continuous improvement, including experience leading process enhancements, technology adoption, organizational transformation, change management initiatives and evolving business priorities. You will serve as a strategic partner to the Head of Operations for Litigation & Government Investigations and the group's attorney team, where a culture of excellence, adaptability, collaboration and a growth mindset is expected. You will lead a team of paralegals, collaborate with BSC's Legal Operations team, and collaborate and direct BSC's outside vendors and law firms, where you will ensure high-quality work product, and efficient workflow management.

Technical Role: You will focus on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, management of information systems and databases, and the supervision of litigation paralegal staff to ensure BSC and its external vendors and law firms develop and implement efficient, secure, and innovative legal processes.

Claims Management Support Role: You will focus on managing a team of skilled paralegals who support the attorneys in Litigation and Government Investigations as they manage unfiled claims through resolution via negotiated settlements or litigation.

Key Responsibilities



  • Oversee AI tool assessment and implementation for legal analysis, improving workflow efficiency and accuracy


  • Analyze litigation data and monitor AI's impact on litigation workflows


  • Stay current with AI and legal tech trends


  • Train staff in AI use
  • Manage the collection, organization, and secure storage of litigation data
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, collaborating with IT and legal teams
  • Enforce policies related to eDiscovery and data retention
  • Develop solutions to technical issues, streamlining workflow and utilizing individual expertise to support litigation goals
  • Evaluate and monitor risk mitigation plans and controls to minimize legal exposure
  • Liaise with Legal & Global Compliance Operations teams as well as perform industry benchmarking to identify and implement best practices in litigation operations, tools, technology and systems
  • Support Litigation team members through change management and implementation of new technology and systems
  • Supervise and mentor litigation paralegals, assigning tasks, setting performance goals, and coordinating training on new technologies
  • Foster a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrate commitment to patient safety and product quality by complying with all quality processes and procedures
  • Provide guidance to Boston Scientific Corporation business partners in consultation with internal and external counsel
  • Ensure protection of proprietary personal and patient-specific data
  • Attend seminars and training sessions to remain current and informed on applicable laws and regulations
  • Be actively involved in non-litigation initiatives, such as Employee Engagement and Volunteer programs



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 10+ years of experience
  • Extensive experience overseeing diverse litigation matters
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Team player
  • Good judgment and excellent interpersonal skills

Maximum Salary: $239000

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com-will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
