As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access Control in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will help manage entry points, greet tenants and visitors, verify credentials, and support a smooth check-in process. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to alarms and calls for service, and document observations with clear communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and contractors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial property.
• Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, confirming authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining access logs and/or visitor management records.
• Monitor cameras, alarms, and building systems as assigned; report irregular activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations through established communication and escalation channels.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including completing incident documentation and coordinating with property management and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support tenant and property operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
