Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Response Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service while delivering strong customer service and communication. This role requires Level III Armed Certification and a valid driver's license, supporting a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and grounded in integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and store leadership by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances and exits, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting additional support when needed.
  • Control access and monitor for unauthorized activity by observing pedestrian and vehicle traffic, checking restricted areas, and assisting with loss prevention awareness to help to deter theft and/or other policy violations.
  • Complete accurate reports and logs for incidents, patrols, and customer interactions, and communicate security-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
