Job Description

Basic Purpose

The Clinical Informatics Supervisor provides staff supervision, oversight, and coordination of daily activities related to the design, development, function and support of clinical information systems.

Job Description

  • The Clinical Informatics Supervisor develops and implements processes to maintain superior service and ensures that the functional needs of the organization are understood and met.
  • The Clinical Informatics Supervisor is responsible for critical decision- making and coordination of team efforts and resources for their assigned clinical applications and projects, prior to escalating to higher-level management.
  • This position is a leadership resource for major clinical systems which include upgrades, conversions, implementations, optimizations and decommissions.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Hire, train, develop, coach, and manage staff performance Ensure adequate staff of resources including time off. Ensures staff provide high-quality services while complying with local, state, and federal requirements. Mentors staff and teams on the principles of informatics and system implementation.
  • Monitors team performance in alignment with IT Service Level Agreement (SLA) and project goals.
  • Develops and maintains specialized technical and operational knowledge to lead process improvements and execute projects.
  • Lead team, inter-team, intra-department and intra-department workgroups
  • Assist with identifying and implementing strategies to reduce costs, eliminate waste and improve quality of service with appropriate use of human and material resources.
  • Develop and lead strategies to assist stakeholders in identifying problems and opportunities for improvement, change management and clinical/operational transformation as related to information technology.
  • Assist with application curriculum and liaison to external departments to establish a partnership for leading technology driven solutions.
  • Ensures adequate rotating stand-by support of relevant systems and leads the team to achieve goals that contribute to the support and growth of the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with eight (8) years related work experience or Master's degree in related field with five (5) years related work experience. Degree in healthcare, business administration, information technology or biomedical engineering preferred.
  • At least two (2) years' experience in an acute care hospital or ambulatory clinic required. Clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience coordinating team projects and tasks required. Previous Supervisory or project management experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication oral and written, interpersonal, organizational, customer service and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks. Must take the initiative to work efficiently without constant supervision and direction.
  • Interact well with all levels of vendors, employees and physicians throughout the organization, participate in intra- and interdepartmental collaboration, and handle multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Demonstrated ability to organize and deliver presentations in written and verbal formats.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements

Current California RN, Pharmacist, Physician Assistant, or other clinical license if licensed healthcare professional

Salary Range:

$86.18 - $129.27 USD Hour
